The County Clare Photo Collection

The "photo of the day" which ran for over a year has built up in to a collection of snaps from the county featuring a wide range of subjects which will will try to assemble into logical sections over the coming months.

Designed to inform rather than impress we will naturally be adding more snaps while doing our best to show where a place or object is in relation to the geography of the area.... and of course we will be aiming to get the best possible angle regarding our subjects.

Each week we will feature our favourite pictures for you to enjoy and while only the basic details will appear here each shot will slot in to its own section where a more detailed article will accompany it.

Clare Abbey is located on one end of the ancient pilgrim path that ran to the holy well at Killone Abbey called the Rocky Road this ruin was once connected to the highest clans in the region.
