The Daily Photo | River Fergus At The Island

19 February River Fergus at The Island | Ennis

This morning dawned bright and crispy with blue skies and a little frost so we thought we had better get out and get some decent shots while the going is good and to savour the early Sunshine.

The riverside is always good for morning photographs and that's where we headed not even bothering for the second cup of strong coffee which could wait until later......

.........The shot above is taken looking towards town from the river walk on the Lahinch Road side of the Mill Bridge at a place called 'The Island', a nice little nature reserve splitting the stream in to two channels just above the loch gates.

The church in silhouette is St Columba's which is located in Bindon Street and it overlooks the river bend at the Post Office Field and Parnell Street car park and is one of the more prominent buildings that is best viewed from across the river.

This walk is a really great asset to the town and when the Sun is shining like today it is a joy to amble along it and spend a bit of time away from the hustle and bustle of the narrow streets in the company of Nature.

We will devote a section to the river walk in the near future but now it's time for that second cup of strong coffee and the Queens for brekkie sounds good.
